Shows and other things

I’m a little sad because I gave away some shorts and two stirrup pants. The pants I have had since sixth grade. Yes, they still fit. But it’s time to give them up. I ordered two new pants from Amazon to replace them. The thing though is that I had to use three of my other gift cards to get the pants.

I’m still reading The Handmaid’s Tale. I got antsy and I went ahead watched the movie and the first episode of the show. I’ll post about them on Tuesday. I hopefully finish the book either tomorrow or Sunday. The last two Left Behind books came available, but I’m going to read Dante’s Divine Comedy next.

I had been watching Still Star Crossed on ABC. It’s a pretty good show. It’s about what happens after Romeo and Juliet die. I have been trying to find some more shows to watch. I had been watching Salem on Netflix, but it’s getting not so good. I’m still watching 13 Reasons Why too. But I can only watch them once a week. My mother and I started watching The Preacher. It’s getting pretty good. I decided to try out This is Us. It’s so good. My mother loves it too. We binged a few episodes.

My mother also taped Midnight Texas. It’s pretty good.

Glorious Appearing

I finished listening to Glorious Appearing by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B Jenkins.  It is the 12th book of the Left Behind book series. There are 16 books in the book series.

In this book, the Rabbi got the Remnant to come down with a video of Lockridge called My King is. (The man,  Jack Sondericker, who reads these books do have a great voice. But he didn’t do the video justice. Our preacher used to play it every Easter.  I’ll post it below.) Rayford got really badly hurt. (I thought he died.) He didn’t die.  Rayford was healed when the sign of God appeared in the sky. The battle wasn’t a battle.   All of the GC were killed on the spot by Jesus. Nicolae and the false prophet were cast into the lake of fire. Satan was bound. The next day the believers that did nothing with their faith were judged. Then the saints and Tribulation saints appeared. Rayford and the others were reunited with friends and family.

I loved this book.  I’m going have to take a small break from Left Behind because I’m waiting on the last two books. So I’m reading next The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood.

Bloody Bones (book)

I finally finished reading Bloody Bones by Laurell K Hamilton. It is the fifth book of the Anita Blake series. There are 26 books in the series. I can’t listen to audiobooks while waiting for my Sunday School class to start so I have been reading on Bloody Bones that’s why it took so long to finish reading it. Plus I think I read some of it already.

Warning: there is some gross parts and one sex part.

In this book, Anita is asked to raise some zombies to see if the graves belong to a wealthy family. There was a family feud over the land. Then the police asked her opinion on a case involving dead kids. And a girl was dead. They asked her if she could kill her before the girl becomes a vampire. Then the girl’s brother gets kidnapped.  Anita finds out the cases in one big case involving a beast that kills kids, a fairie, and a vampire. In the end, the beast gets killed, the fairy and vampire get killed by Anita.

I did like this book. In few weeks, I’m going to read Micah by Laurell K Hamilton. It is the 13th book of the Anita Blake series. It is actually a novella so it won’t take long to read it.

Armageddon

I finished listening to Armageddon by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B Jenkins. It is the 11th book of the Left Behind book series. There are 16 books in the series.

Warning: one sad part and three very sad parts.

In this book, Chloe does something stupid. She goes out on her own to check out where the GC IS. She gets captured. She isn’t tortured, but she is drugged. She is given truth serum and an angel gives her strength. She ends up getting beheaded. (I didn’t want her to die.) Everyone else has to go Petria.  Nicolae shows his true colors and talks bad about God. The ten Kingdoms follow him to go against Israel. New Babylon is destroyed. The tech guy gets out New Babylon before the destruction. The Rabbi gets killed in the battle. Cameron gets hurt and dies.

I sorta liked this book. I didn’t want Chloe and Cameron to die. I’m listening to next is Glorious Appearing by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B Jenkins.

Ice Age: The Meltdown

To continue my Ice Age marathon, I watched Ice Age: The Meltdown. It is the second movie is the movie series. It has Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Queen Latifah in it.

In this movie, The squirrel causes the ice dam to burst. Sid, Manny, and Diego go with the herds to find safer ground. On their way, they meet Ellie who thinks she is a possum. But actually, she is a mammoth. They try to convince her that she is a mammoth. Later she remembers. Manny saves her life and they fall in love.They discover a herd of mammoths, but Ellie changes her mind and travels with Sid, Diego, and Manny.

I loved this movie. Next week I’m watching Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I also might be seeing The Circle finally.

The Remnant

I finished listening to The Remnant by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B Jenkins. It is the tenth book f the Left Behind book series. There are 16 books in the book series.

In this book, the pilot who was captured and tortured got free. Chloe and the others got him to safety. The rivers also turned to blood. The GC found out about the safe house so all the tribulation force moved to different parts of the world. The believers in Jerusalem was moved to Petra. (I saw a show on tv about Petra. It’s an interesting place.) Nicolae orders a bombing on Petra. The bombing happened and the believers were on fire, but not hurt. Cameron’s old boss is assigned to take the Mark. He was badly wounded so there is no way they could give him the Mark. He refused anyway because he became a believer. The man who took him to the place to get the Mark killed himself. Then Nicolae ordered the false prophet to get people to do signs and wonders. Many fall for it and died. (That’s so sad that people fell for it.)  The sun becomes intense and then darkness fell over Nicolae’s palace. They were in pain.

I really liked this book. I’m listening next to Armageddon by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B Jenkins.

Get Out (movie)

The other movie my mother got was Get Out. She has been wanting to see the movie even since it came out. She has been bugging me about seeing it too. I didn’t really want to see it, but I knew if it was good she drive me crazy about it. Get Out has Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Catherine Keener, Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Marcus Henderson, Betty Gabriel, and LilRel Howery.

Warning: It has a twist at the end.

Get Out is about a black man who is dating a white girl. He is invited to the girl’s house. He meets her parents. The family is sorta weird, and then the parents announce that there will more people coming for a party. Those people were acting weird. He finds out the family’s secret. I’m not going to spoil it.

Yes, I have to admit the movie was really good. It wasn’t what my mother and I expected. I just looked up to see if there will be a sequel. An article says there will be one coming out March 2019. That would be awesome because I have questions about the end.

 

Desecration

I finished listening to Desecration by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B Jenkins. It is the ninth book of the Left Behind series. I thought there were 13 books actually there are 16 books in the series. I’m determined to finish them before our church finishes the book of Revelation. Warning: there is one very sad part.

In this book, Nicolae goes to Jerusalem. He goes in the city riding on a pig. (of course, he is a pig riding on a pig. Lol) He goes into the Holy of Holies within the temple and kills the pig.  The people with the mark get boils. David is killed. (I don’t think he should have died.)  Chloe finds a light outside of the safe house. She investigates the source. She finds some more believers. But by her looking for the source it could have undermined the whole team of believers. The oceans turn to blood. One of the pilots gets captured and tortured.

I did like this book. I’m listening next The Remnant by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B Jenkins.

The Revenant

Last weekend my mother got two movies. I’ll post about the other one Friday. I didn’t know The Revenant is semi based on a true story until I looked up about the movie. The Revenant has Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter, and Forrest Goodluck.

Warning: there is lots of violence and one sad part. Big Warning 2: the movie ends abruptly.

The Revenant is about a man named Hugh Glass. He led some traders around in the wilderness. He gets attacked by a man and his men leave him to die. One of the men kills his son. He survives to get his revenge.

Since it ends abruptly, I looked up more info on him (below). The movie was really good. My uncle liked the movie too.

Ice Age

I decided to do an Ice Age marathon because I think I only have seen the first two movies. A few months ago Direct TV had some movie channels as free previews and I recorded the “newest” movie. Ice Age has Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, and Denis Leary in it.

I love Ice Age. My favorite character is the squirrel. Ice Age is about a sloth who meets a Mammoth. They find a mother holding a little boy. They decide to take the little boy back to the humans. They meet up with a sabertooth tiger who was going to eat the boy. But the tiger ends up saving them from the other tigers.

Next week I’m watching Ice Age: The Meltdown.
