The Sinner (tv show)

I watched The Sinner season 2 season finale last week. It had a very shocking ending. I would have never guessed it.

The second season was a boy who had killed his “parents” in a motel room. Later it was revealed that he is part of a cult. (I saw a show on the Travel Channel about a real-life cult that was similar to the one in The Sinner.)

I hope they do another season of this show.

Mr. Holmes

I watched Mr. Holmes yesterday. I had taped it when Sundance channel was a free preview. It is based on the novel A Slight Trick of the Mind by Mitch Cullin. I haven’t read the book. The movie has Ian McKellen, Laura Linney, Milo Parker, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hattie Morahan, and Patrick Kennedy.

Warning: there is a sad part.

In this movie, Sherlock Holmes is aging. He is getting forgetful. He wants to remember his last case so he can write a book of what really happened. His housekeeper’s son helps him to remember. In the end, he does remember and does finish the book.

I loved this movie. It is an interesting take on Sherlock Holmes. Next week I’m watching Garage Sale Mystery: The Novel Murders.

Swagbucks and Chrome

A few weeks ago I discovered that Swagbucks changed their site. I think it’s so much better than before. They changed the watch page. Instead of having videos, they have a button to start something like the Ncrave. It’s pop-ups of different sites. It’s so much easier to earn on the site now. They also added the Swagbutton on the daily to-do list. I added it to Chrome.

I’m also still earning with Instagc. Instead of getting Petco gift cards, I got some Amazon gift cards and ordered my new Kindle today. Yay!! It should be here next week. (for some people who didn’t know, my Kindle had died) Now hopefully my mother will give me her bluetooth earbuds and I will be all set to read and listen to ebooks again.

Also, yesterday Chrome changed the design of their browser. It looks so modern now.

Delirium (movie)

While I was staying at my uncle’s house during Hurricane/Tropical Storm Florence, my mother had said she had watched some of a movie and she wanted to watch it with me. So we watched Delirium on Netflix. It has Topher Grace, Patricia Clarkson, Genesis Rodriguez, Callan Mulvey, Robin Thomas, and Daisy McCrackin.

Warning: there are some scary parts, some violence, and a sad ending.

This movie is about a man named Tom. He and his brother had been arrested when they were young. His brother was sent to prison, but Tom was sent to a mental institution. He was getting released from the mental institution. The day before his release his father kills himself. He has to live in the mansion alone for a month. He learns the terrible truth about his father and mother.

I did like this movie. Like I said next week I’m watching Mr. Holmes.

Romeo and Juliet

I watched  Romeo and Juliet today. I had taped it when HBO was a free preview. This is not the Leo version. It was made in 2013. It has Damian Lewis, Laura Morante,Tomas Arana, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Natascha McElhone, Stellan Skarsgård,Tom Wisdom, Christian Cooke, Ed Westwick, Hailee Steinfeld, Lesley Manville, and Douglas Booth in it.

Warning: there is some violence and a sad part at the end.

I’m sure everyone knows the story of Romeo and Juliet so I’ll spare you with the summary. I love Shakespeare. I still think the Leo version was awesome. That version is a modernized version. This version was more like the play.

Of course, I loved the movie. Next week I’m watching Mr. Holmes.

Solo (1996 robot movie)

I Solo yesterday. I taped it when Starz was a free preview. It has Mario Van Peebles, Barry Corbin, William Sadler, and Jaime Gomez in it.

Warning: there is lots of violence. Warning 2: have tissues ready. One sad part.

In this movie, the military build a robot called Solo. Solo could think for himself. The mission was take out an airstrip in Mexico. Solo saw some villagers were there and refused to blow up the airstrip. They wanted to reprogram him after the failed mission. He ended up escaping and helping the villagers.

I really enjoyed this movie. Next week I’m watching Romeo & Juliet. It’s not Leo’s version. It was made in 2013.

The month of September

Happy September!!

Saturday was my great-aunt’s birthday!! We went to her house on Sunday.

Tonight is the Purge tv show. The show Manifest will be coming on the 24th!! I can’t wait. It sounds like the tv show Lost. This is Us comes back on September 25th!! How to Get Away with Murder comes back on September 27th!!

Also, we have to take Lily to the vet sometime this month for a wellness checkup.

Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower

I finished reading The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower by Stephen King. There are eight books in the books series.

Warning: Have tissues ready.  Warning 2: there is some violence and some gross parts.

This is the last book of the Dark Tower book series. In this book, Roland and the gang make their way to the Dark Tower. On the way, there are some deaths (two I think shouldn’t have happened). Susannah leaves Roland to rediscover the people she lost along the way. Roland does make it to the Dark Tower and discovers what is at the top of the tower.

   My Thoughts

Like I have said before I am sad and relieved for this journey to end. I’m sad because I really have enjoyed this journey. It took so long to read it because I did some nightmares from reading it and I did want to make it last. This is the first of Stephen King’s work I didn’t want to throw at the wall. I gave the book 4 stars on Goodreads because of the two deaths I think shouldn’t have happened. In the book, you have a choice of reading what Roland discovers at the top of the Tower. I chose to read it because like him I heard the Dark Tower calling. I do feel sorry for Roland of what he finds at the top. I wonder if Crimson King would have gotten up at the top if he would have seen the same thing Roland did?

Now I’m listening to Origin by Dan Brown. I may have to read it because I may have to reset my Kindle.

You can get this book at Wordery.com, and Kobo.com.

The First Purge

I watched The First Purge yesterday. It is the fourth movie in the Purge movie saga. It has Y’lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Mugga, Patch Darragh, Marisa Tomei, Rotimi Paul, and Steve Harris.

Warning: there is lots of violence.

This movie is the prequel. So they select Staten Island as the place to do their “experiment.” It wasn’t really a success. There was only person killing and it was a crazy guy. So the NFFA (New Founding Fathers of America) brought in missionaries to help make it a success. This should have told them that people don’t really want to kill other people.

I did like this movie. I can’t wait until tonight for the tv show. I’m taping it and watching it tomorrow. Next week I’m watching Solo. It’s a robot movie.
