Beyond the Edge

I watched Beyond the Edge. I had taped it when it was on Showtime, but I watched it on IMDB TV. It has Milos Bikovic, Antonio Banderas (love him), Lyubov Aksyonova, Yuriy Chursin, Aristarkh Venes, and Maksim Al-Names in it.

Big Warning: This movie is very weird.

In this movie, a con artist named Mayki blends in working at a casino. He wants to join a VIP room and win money by cheating with Xray glasses. But he doesn’t get the money because another con artist takes the money. But that con artist gets away with the money. Mayki gets caught and is ordered within seven days to come up alot of money. So he goes to his friend to find out who the con artist that money is. Meanwhile, the second con artist hands over the money to a man named Gordon. Gordon talks about having a device that will help him open a white door. The second con artist tells him that he can’t use the device unless he has a partner. He says he knows someone who will help him. Mayki learns about some people who have supernatural abilities so he gets them together to pull off a casino heist. (Yes this does sound like Oceans Eleven) Anyway, They almost do it, but they get caught and Mayki almost gets killed. One of the group goes into a self-coma. Mayki finds out his dad was behind the first casino attempt and he helps his father with the white door. He develops some supernatural abilities and helps the girl in the coma. They later work for Mayki’s father.

Big Warning: there is some violence.

In this movie, a judge named Steven gets aggravated with the court system. The defense legal teams of the accused were poking holes in some important cases. So Steven had no choice and he had to dismiss the cases. So the killers got away with it. Steven’s father is also a judge and he is part of a secret society of judges that hire a hitman to kill the guilty that got away with the crimes. Steven finally gets invited to one of the meetings because he was upset about a child getting killed and he thinks two men got away with it. But after they send out the hitman for those two men, Steven finds out the two men were actually innocent. He tries to warn them and finds out the two men were making meth. Shedding Light on His Dark Materials

I finished reading  Shedding Light on His Dark Materials: Exploring Hidden Spiritual Themes in Philip Pullman’s Popular Series by Kurt Bruner and Jim Wise. Yes, I had read Philip Pullman’s book series.

In this book, Kurt Bruner and Jim Wise goes through Philip Pullman’s book series with Christian applications to live by. I do disagree again with one part. I see it a different way from what they say. It deals with Mary’s view.
