Halloween Eve

Happy Halloween Eve!!!

Tomorrow is Lily’s day since she’s all black cat. Today I gave her some treats and I will tomorrow too. I’m going to help my uncle hand out candy at his church tomorrow. I’m going to wear a Halloween shirt and black lipstick.

I’m supposed to get a charm bracelet soon from Arm and Hammer. It has a cute cat charm. And today I should be able to order my calendar and my best friend’s calendar. This year I’m getting a fantasy cat calendar for myself and the usual Marilyn Monroe calendar for my best friend.

Invitation to a Gunfighter

I watched Invitation to a Gunfighter yesterday. I had taped it when Starz was a free preview. It has Yul Brynner, Janice Rule, George Segal, Clifford David, and Pat Hingle in it.
Warning: there is some violence and a sad ending.
In this movie, A man named Matt Weaver was coming back home from the Civil War. He finds out that the town boss Sam Brewster sold his house. He also finds out his fiancee had married another man. He wants his property back so he makes threats to get it back. Brewster ends up hiring a gunfighter to fight Matt. Then the gunfighter gets out of control and Brewster makes a deal with Matt that he can get his property back if he will kill the gunfighter.
I didn’t like the ending, but I liked the rest of the movie. Next week I’m watching Terminator Genisys.

A Sunday Twist

This past Sunday our preacher did something different. He handed out bracelets and he talked about the meaning behind the bracelet. I never see one before and I thought it’s neat.

A picture of it is below. The knots represent our birth and death. The black bead represents our sin. The red bead (ours was a red heart bead) represents the love that God gives us and the sacrifice Jesus made. The blue bead represents our faith. The white bead represents our forgiveness. The green bead represents our growth. The yellow bead represents the promise of Heaven.

Also a guy at church says he can’t hear me when I play my clarinet. So I’m going to ask to place microphone on me which I’m nervous about.

SAVATION BRACLET

Murder in D Minor

Yesterday I watched Garage Sale Mystery: Murder in D Minor. It is the last Garage Sale mystery movie I taped from Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel. It has Lori Loughlin, Sarah Strange, Steve Bacic, Eva Bourne, Connor Stanhope, Kevin O’Grady, Jeff Joseph, and Chris William Martin.

Warning: there is a little bit violence.

In this movie, Jennifer wins a self playing piano at an auction. The owner had died the previous night. Someone had killed him and also hurt someone else to get the code for a vault of paintings. The code was inside the piano which Jennifer solves and finds out who killed the owner of the piano.

I did like this movie. Next week I’m watching Invitation to a Gunfighter. It’s going to be awhile before I get to my next book to movie movie.

Sharp Objects

I finished reading Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. There is a tv show on HBO that is based on the book. I had taped the first episode and I hope to see the rest of the episodes on the computer soon.

Warning: this book is addicting. I couldn’t stop reading it. Warning 2: there is some violence, sad parts, and gross parts.

In this book, a woman named Camille Preaker is a reporter. Her boss asks her to return to her hometown to cover a missing girl case. It is not an ordinary missing girl case because another girl was murdered a few months before. That murdered girl had her teeth ripped out. Camille helps search for the girl until the girl turns up dead. Everyone thinks one guy is guilty, but the killer is someone totally unexpected.

I have read that the show is a little bit different. So far the first episode did have two differences. I did like the book. I found out her other book (Dark Places) is a movie on Netflix. So I will be reading it soon. Now I’m reading The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor.

You can find this book at Wordery.com, Kobo.com, and Downpour.com.

Harry Potter book 1

I finished listening to Harry Potter book 1 by J. K. Rowling. There is a movie based on it. I had seen the movie a long time ago and I decided to listen to the books now. I also taped the movie and watched it.

Warning: there is some violence.

Since most people know about the books and movies, here’s a quick summary: A boy named Harry Potter finds out on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard. He also finds out what really happened to his parents.

The movie mostly follows the book. The only differences are the forest scene and the part where they go get the stone.

I think I liked the movie more now than I did before since listening to the movie. I liked both. Now I’m reading Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. Yes, I know there is an HBO show of the book. I taped the first episode of the show.  Also, my next book to movie book will be Murder on the Oriental Train by Agatha Christie.

Garage Sale Mystery: The Mask Murders

I watched Garage Sale Mystery: The Mask Murders yesterday. I had taped it when it was on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel. It has Lori Loughlin, Sarah Strange, Steve Bacic, Eva Bourne, Connor Stanhope, Kevin O’Grady, and Rachelle Gillis in it.

Warning: there is some violence.

In this movie, Jennifer and Dani win an auction for a storage locker. Later the storage locker manager lets Jennifer have another locker which holds a dead body. Jennifer joins in the case and finds out how killed the girl.

I liked this movie. Next Monday I’m watching Garage Sale Mystery: Murder in D Minor.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (movie)

I watched Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children a little earlier. I had taped it when HBO was a free preview. But then my power went out so I watched it on my computer. It has Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Samuel L. Jackson, Judi Dench, Rupert Everett, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, and Ella Purnell in it.

Warning: there is some violence and some sad parts.

Quick summary: a boy named Jacob finds out his grandfather’s stories are true.

This movie has a lot of differences between the book and movie.

1. Emma is the fire girl and Olive is the lightweight girl in the book.

2. Jacob follows Emma in the loop tunnel. He wasn’t carried like the movie.

3. Jacob’s doctor is a man.

4. In the book, Miss Peregrine says the hollows are her brothers.

5. The first soldiers were made of clay in the book.

6. The ending was different.

Even though there was a lot of differences, I liked the movie. Monday I watched Garage Sale Mystery: The Mask Murders. I hope to watch Cell as soon as I get the ebook. Next Monday I’m watching Garage Sale Mystery: Murder in D Minor.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (book)

I finished reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. There is a movie based on the book which I will be watching soon. It is another young adult book.

Warning: some violence, some weird pictures, and sad parts

In this book, Jacob had heard stories told by his grandfather. When he was little, he thought they were true stories until he grew up. By then he thought they were made up stories. Then his grandfather was killed by strange creatures. He could only see them. His grandfather told him to go to the island he talked about and find the bird. He did go the island with his father. He found out the stories were true.

I did like this book. The next book to movie book will hopefully be Cell by Stephen King. I’m next in line to get it. While I wait, I’m going to read Heel to Heaven book 2 by Kylie Chan. And I found out the audiobook of the first book of the Harry Potter book series came available. But I can’t listen to the audiobooks on my new kindle. So I’m going to listen to them on iTunes.

You can get this book at Wordery.com, Kobo.com, and Downpour.com.

The Pandora Box Murders (movie)

I watched Garage Sale Mystery: Pandora Box Murders yesterday. I had taped it when it came on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Network. It has Lori Loughlin, Sarah Strange, Steve Bacic, Eva Bourne, Connor Stanhope, Kevin O’Grady, Jessie Fraser, Lane Edwards, Terry O’Sullivan, Fred Henderson, and Antonio Cupo in it.

Warning: there is a little bit of violence.

In this movie, A woman brings in a puzzle box in Jennifer’s store. She says her mother owned it and she can’t open it. Jennifer offers to try to open it. Then the box gets stolen but appears again. Jennifer does solve the box and the murders behind the box.

The ending was a big surprise to me. I did like this movie. Next week I’m watching Garage Sale Mystery: The Mask Murders. And I probably will be watching Miss Peregrine’s House for Peculiar Children on Sunday.
