Deadwood: The Movie

Deadwood was a tv show on HBO back in 2004. I loved the show and was mad they canceled the show. Then they made a movie. I had taped the movie when it was on HBO. The show and movie has Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Molly Parker, Paula Malcomson, Dayton Callie, Jeffrey Jones, and Leon Rippy in them.

Big Warning: have tissues ready and there is alot of violence (of course since it’s the wild west.) Note: the movie doesn’t actually follow history, but I like how they ended it anyway.

The movie takes place 10 years after the show ended. So it’s 1889. Ms. Ellsworth comes back to Deadwood. George Hearst is a senator and he is wanting Charlie Utter’s land. Hearst kills Charlie. He does get put in jail and Al doesn’t have to kill Trixie. Trixie marries Sol Star and AL dies with trixie by his side.

I loved this movie. Next week I’m watching Once Upon a Time in Deadwood.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

I watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I had taped it when it was on Starz. It has
Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Margaret Qualley, Dakota Fanning,
Mike Moh, Luke Perry, Al Pacino, Damian Lewis, and Rafal Zawierucha in it.

Note: If Quentin Tarantino reads this, Please make Kill Bill 3. Us fans want the third movie. Or at least a spin-off movie with Beatrix’s daughter.

Big Warning: there is violence and the ending is an alternate reality than what really happened.

In this movie, a western tv show actor named Rick Dalton is looking to expand his fame to movies. His stunt double named Cliff Booth is his driver and he is also looking for work. Rick is a next-door neighbor to Sharon Tate. Rick gets to star in a western as a bad guy. Cliff meets one of the girls of the Charles Manson’s group and gets invited to their ranch. Rick goes to Italy and gets married. And then the Manson group gets the “order” to kill Sharon Tate, but the murders don’t happen.

I do get this is fiction and it is like an alternate reality that we all wish would have happened, but I didn’t really like the ending. Here is a really good article about how Manson could have been innocent and the murders weren’t about race like we were told for many years: https://allthatsinteresting.com/who-did-charles-manson-kill

Even though I didn’t like the ending, I did like the rest of the movie. Next week I’m watching Deadwood The Movie.

The Beaver

I watched The Beaver. I had taped it when it was on Showtime. It was directed by Jodie Foster. It has Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, Cherry Jones, Anton Yelchin, Riley Thomas Stewart, and Jennifer Lawrence in it.

In this movie, a man named Walter is a toy company owner. He is very depressed and his company isn’t doing too good. His wife and kids are tired of him being depressed so his wife kicks him out. He goes to throw some stuff in a dumpster and finds a beaver puppet which he keeps. He tries to commit suicide, but the beaver “talks” to him in an Aussie accent. So he uses the puppet to talk to people. At first, everyone is willing to him a chance with the puppet. He even gets an idea for a new toy which helps his toy company come up out of the red. But then his wife can’t take him wearing the puppet everywhere. So she leaves him. He goes crazy saying the beaver is real. He ends up cutting off his arm to be free of the beaver.

I liked this movie even though it was a little hard to watch. Next week I’m watching Once upon a time in Hollywood.

Ocean’s Eight

I watched Ocean’s Eight. I had taped it when it was on Cinemax. I have seen other Ocean movies. It has Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, and Richard Armitage in it.

In this movie, Danny’s sister gets out of prison. When she does, she has a huge heist in mind. To pull it off she gets seven other women to put it off. The heist is to steal some jewels from a museum. They do put it off and she gets revenge too.

This was an awesome movie. I loved it. Next week I’m watching The Beaver.

xXx: Return of Xander Cage

I watched xXx: Return of Xander Cage. I had taped it when it was on USA network. Yes, I have seen the first two movies. I actually rewatched them last week before seeing this one. It has Vin Diesel (love him), Deepika Padukone, Donnie Yen, Kris Wu, Ruby Rose, Samuel L. Jackson, Toni Collette, and Ice Cube in it.

Note: I was confused about how they were going to do this movie since Xander Cage was supposedly was dead in the second movie. They explained that he faked his death. But Gibbons did forget that he already faked his death in the second movie. So he faked it twice.

Big Warning: there is lots of violence.

In this movie, Someone is using a device that controls satellites and making them crash to earth. One of the crashed satellites supposedly kills Gibbons. So the CIA finds Xander to get him to track down a group that has the device. But it turns out they are xXx too. After Xander destroys the device, another satellite falls. They figure out who the person is, but then the woman who is over the mission wants to use the device and destroy the xXx program. They do stop her, but they have a target on their back.

I liked this movie. Next week I’m watching Ocean’s 8.
