Blockers

I watched Blockers. I had taped it when it was it was on HBO. It has Leslie Mann, John Cena, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Newton, Geraldine Viswanathan, Gideon Adlon,
Miles Robbins, and Jimmy Bellinger in it.

Bad Warning: there is one gross part.

Note: this is an awesome movie. I recommend this movie to everyone.

In this movie, three girls become best friends in Kindergarten. The two dads and the mother of one of the girls become friends too. When they become teenagers and just before prom, they make a pact about losing their virginity on prom night. The mother and one of the dads want to stop that from happening. The other dad wants to protect his daughter from not being who she is. He knows she is gay. She was worried that she would lose her friends if she told them the truth. In the end, she does tell them and they accepted her as real friends should.

I loved this movie. Since I dreamed about dinosaurs last night and La Brea is coming back on next week, so I’m watching next Jurassic World Dominion.

Black Jade

I finished reading Black Jade by Kylie Chan. This book is part of a martial arts fantasy book series and the last book of that book series. She has written nine books of the books series. She is writing a new book for the series and it will be out soon. She also wrote a dragon book series that I would to read.

Big Warning: there is some violence and some sad parts.

In this book, after the war ended. The demon King took over the Heavens. He killed all the Shen and imprisoned John in the jade cage again. Emma and her family were spared. Simone was spared too. But Emma’s nephew was killed by human soldiers that the Demon King controlled. The Demon King had made him into clones, but the clones were too aggressive so Emma’s sister agreed to have copies destroyed later on. Simone and Emma went to a safe place on Earthly to escape, but they had to get rid of their phones because of tracking. They found somewhere safe until the Demon King asked Emma to come to take Frankie, Emma’s son, to the Heavens so he can be taught how to be the Jade Emperor. While there Gold put BJ (Black Jade) in Emma so she can be able to talk to her family without the Demon King. It was later found out that BJ was working for the Demon King’s son!! Frankie becomes the Jade Emperor and everyone obeys him. Even Emma at some points. The Demon King was wanting to make Simone and Frankie marry. Emma tried to stop it from happening, but Simone wouldn’t talk to her. The Demon King also wanted to sacrifice himself to make John become different and destroy Frankie.  But Simone had other plans. She killed the Demon King and saved everyone.  The Jade Emperor came back to be on the throne. The Demon King’s son becomes the next Demon King. There was a new treaty and the heavens were rebuilt. But BJ (Black Jade) disappeared. In order to draw her out, Emma and John had their wedding (Finally). They had some encounters with some demon copies and they were destroyed. The wedding did bring Black Jade out, and Emma married Black Jade, but Emma realized and she called out to John and John took out the demon copy.  The real wedding happened. They all decided to live on Earthly since Simone couldn’t go to the Heavens.

I sorta liked this book. Now I’m reading a graphic novel called Small Shen by Kylie Chan. It’s the prequel to the martial arts book series.

The Bad Seed Returns

I watched The Bad Seed Returns. It is the sequel to the 2018 movie called The Bad Seed that Rob Lowe was the director. This sequel has Mckenna Grace, Michelle Morgan, Benjamin Ayres, Ella Dixon, Marlowe Zimmerman, and Patty McCormack in it.

In this movie, Emma is a teenager now. Her aunt and her uncle are taking care of her and her baby cousin. She fakes being friends with some girls in a dance group. A new girl comes to her school named Kat who really knows Emma. Kat has a hunch about the deaths that happened in the past. She confronts Emma about them which was wrong to do. Emma kills the dog of one of the dance group girls. So she could get to be the dance group leader, but that backfires. She ends up killing the girl. She also hurt her uncle because he wanted her to go to a private boarding school. With Kat threatening to tell everyone, Emma kills her, her uncle, and her aunt. Emma and her baby cousin are going to a new family.

I didn’t like the ending, but I did like the movie. I just read that there may be a third movie. Next week I’m watching Blockers.

On the Basis of Sex

I watched On The Basis of Sex. I had taped it when it was on Showtime. It has
Felicity Jones, Armie Hammer, Sam Waterston, Kathy Bates, Cailee Spaeny, and Chris Mulkey.

In this movie, Ruth Bader Ginsburg goes to law school after her husband goes to law school. When her husband was sick, she took up his schoolwork and hers. After he graduated, he got a job out of state so she wanted to graduate early to be able to go to school in that state. She was turned down for early graduation, but she did graduate and went to that other college and graduated there. She wanted to work as a lawyer in a law firm, but no one would hire her because she was a woman. She ended up taking a professor job and took up a case of sex discrimination against a man in a tax law case. She ended up winning the case.

I liked this movie. She was a great lawyer. Next week I’m watching The Bad Seed Returns.

Demon Child

I finished reading Demon Child by Kylie Chan.  This book is part of a martial arts fantasy book series. She has written 10 books of the books series. She is writing a new book for the series and it will be out soon. She also written a dragon book series that I would to read.

In this book, John gets injured badly by the Demon King torturing the serpent. The Blue Dragon suggests putting him in another jade cage to see if it heals him. It works. They find out that Demon King wants to take over Hell. So they fight and John gets injured again. They also lose the battle and many lives are lost. The Demon King tries to make a deal with John, but they refuse it. So Demon King revises the treaty and wants Emma and John to come to get the new treaty. Everyone thinks that Emma will die during this meeting. But she doesn’t because her son saves her. (Yes I was right. She didn’t lose her baby in the previous book.)  John is injured again.  Emma finds out that their former housekeeper had died and she goes to her funeral and goes back to hell. The Demon King wants her to teach her son. So she does and she tries to find the serpent. Simone rescues her. They find the serpent. Simone gets badly injured so Emma gives her the Elixir and raises Simone. Then Emma frees the serpent by possessing the serpent.  Emma joins with John only so she can free from the serpent. So they take back Hell, but then Demon King wants to take down the Heavens too. So they win the battle at the gates, but then the demons go to the West so Michael kills all the demons there. Emma and John meet with the Jade Emperor who kills Emma so she will be raised and John raises her as promised. Everything is quiet until a phoenix comes to warn about the Demon King has attacked again.

I sorta liked this book. Now I’m reading Black Jade by Kylie Chan. It is the last book of the series.

The Gender Card Flip

I watched The Gender Card Flip. I taped it when it was on Showtime. I watched it on Tubi. On Tubi it goes by the title Second Nature. It has Collette Wolfe, Sam Huntington, Carollani Sandberg, Carolyn Cox, Angela Andrews, and David M. Austin in it.

In this movie, the mayor and his mistress die in a car wreck. An old woman who is Amanda’s grandmother finds a box she hid in the ground using a metal detector. Amanda wants to have some kind of political job. Her boss wants the same thing so they both run for mayor when they find out the mayor is dead. Amanda visits her grandmother and she gives Amanda an old mirror. Amanda and his boss get in a fight and they accidentally opened an alternate reality where woman acts like men and men acts like women. They get the mirror back and flip things back the way things are.

I liked this movie Next week I’m watching On the Basis of Sex.

September 1st was my great-aunt’s birthday!! I gave the cat treats to celebrate.

Sept. 5th was Labor Day. I gave the cats treats to celebrate.

Sept. 14th The Handmaid’s Tale comes back on!! I can’t wait. I will be watching it.

Sept. 25th Van de Valk comes back on!! It’s a mystery show on PBS.

Sept. 27th La Brea comes back on!! I really can’t wait for that.

Sept. 29th CSI: Vegas comes back on!!
