Vamps

I watched Vamps yesterday. I taped it when it was on Starz. It has Alicia Silverstone, Krysten Ritter, Todd Barry, Wallace Shawn (Inconceivable!), Ivan Sergei, Sigourney Weaver, Malcolm McDowell, Dan Stevens, and Richard Lewis in it.

Big Warning: there is some violence.

In this movie, two female vampires are part of a group of vampires that only drink animal blood. Stacy falls in love with a guy she meets in a college class. His last name is Van Helsing. But he is not like his father. Goody, the other female vampire sees a guy she fell in love with many years ago. He is older and has a sick wife. Goody is an ancient vampire. She lies about her age to Stacy. Stacy gets pregnant so Goody gives up her life to let Stacy have her kid. At the end, her daughter is a vampire too.

I sorta liked this movie. Next week I’m watching Picture Perfect Mysteries. Thursday I’m going to watch the fifth Harry Potter movie. I’m not through with the book yet, but I would like to see the movie again.

The 14th Colony

I just finished listening to The 14th Colony by Steve Berry.  It is the eleventh book of the Cotton Malone book series. There are 15 books in the book series.

Big Warning: there is some violence.

In this book, Cotton is sent to Serbia by the sorta president. Danny Daniels who was president is about to leave the duty of being president. Cotton’s mission was to find a Russian man who had been missing for a few days. But Cotton’s plane was shot down by another Russian man who had a mission to do damage to America. Cotton discovers this when he finds the missing man.

Cassiopeia is sent to Serbia too so she make sure Cotton is ok. Cotton does finally tells Cassiopeia that he loves her. The Russian whose mission to do damage America almost competes his mission, Cotton saves the day.

I loved this book. Now I’m going to listen to Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix by J.K. Rowling which is the 5th book of the Harry Potter book series. Yes, I will watch the movie too.

V.C. Andrews’ Web of Dreams

I watched V.C. Andrews’ Web of Dreams yesterday. It based on the book by V.C. Andrews. No, I haven’t read the books. It has Jennifer Laporte, Max Lloyd-Jones, Cindy Busby, David Lewis, Tim Donadt, Liam Hughes, and Lizzie Boys in it.

Warning: there is rape.

In this movie, Annie goes back to the mansion after Troy dies. Rye Whiskey gives her Leigh’s diary (in the book according to wikipedia, Annie finds the diary in a back drawer in Jillian’s room). Annie reads the diary. Jillian divorces Leigh’s “father” (it sorts hints that perhaps Cleave is not her biological dad). Jillian was having an affair with a much younger Tony Tatterton. She ends up marrying him. Leigh doesn’t like it. She is sent to a private school. On her birthday, she is given a model doll which she had sat for with Tony. Tony asked Leigh to pose nude for the doll which lead her to be raped by Tony twice. She ended up pregnant and Jillian had nothing to do with her so Leigh ran away to discover her grandmother had died. She ends up meeting Luke Casteel which she marries and dies in childbirth. Annie finds a note from a private investigator who told Tony about the death of Leigh and birth of Heaven.

I sorta liked this movie. Since next week is Halloween week, I’m watching Vamps which is a comedy horror movie.

Winter is not coming anymore

I’m sad because I just watched the last episode of Game of Thrones. It’s sad there won;t be anymore. I think they said either a movie or prequel will happen, but I don’t know when that will be on HBO.

I’m a little mad about the ending of the show. Yes, it’s a fair ending, but I didn’t like it. Yes, I do plan on reading the books sometime. Winter is gone, not coming anymore.

Gates of Paradise (movie)

I watched Gates of Paradise yesterday. It is based on the Casteel book series by V.C Andrews. No, I haven’t read the books. It has Jason Priestley, Lizzie Boys, Johannah Newmarch, Jason Cermak, Pauline Egan, Michael Karl Richards, Ben Sullivan, and Keenan Tracey in it.

Warning: there is some disturbing scenes.

In this movie, Annie is grown up. She’s 18 years old. Heaven, Annie, and Logan go to Fanny’s (Heaven’s “sister”) 40th birthday party. They get in a car accident and Annie is crippled. Heaven and Logan are dead. Annie goes to live with Tony (Heaven’s biological dad). She quickly figures out the nurse and Tony are keeping her hostage at the manor. Luke, her “half-brother” comes to rescue her. She finds out through Troy (her biological dad) that Luke is not her half-brother which they can be together.

I did sorta liked this movie. I had read the wikipedia of the book and there were a few differences between the book and movie. Next week I’m watching Web of Dreams.

A House like a Lotus

I finished listening to A House like a Lotus by Madeleine L’Engle. It is the third book of the Polly O’Keefe book series. There are four books in the book series. I already the fourth one which was tagged on the A Wrinkle in Time book series.

Warning: there is a sex scene, a misunderstanding, and a sexual assault.

In this book, Polly O’Keefe’s uncle introduces her to a good friend of his named Maximiliana Horne. Max becomes a teacher for Polly. She goes over to her house to talk and learn about all kinds of topics. Max introduces Polly to an doctor intern who specializes in a rare disease. He is trying to find a cure for it. She later figures out that Max has this rare disease and is dying. Polly’s brother and cousin hears rumors about Max being lesbian. Max ends up telling Polly that it was true. Then Ursula, Max’s partner, asks Polly to stay the night with Max. To sooth the pain she feels, Max drinks. She gets really drunk. She stands up and moves toward Polly and Polly flees out of the house. (I think this is misunderstanding. I don’t think it was seduction. She got all the rumors in her head and thought the worst of Max.) Polly panics and gets a cut on her foot and a guy tries to get Polly to have sex with him. Then she does have sex with the doctor intern.

Max had planned Polly to go to Greece to help out at a conference before the drunken misunderstanding happened.  So she goes to Greece and meets a guy named Zachery Grey. (I don’t like him.) Then at the conference she meets some really nice people who teach her what true friendship and love is which leads her to forgive Max for the misunderstanding that had occurred.

I loved this book. I’m sad that this is the last book and there won’t be anymore because  Madeleine died. She really was a great author. Now I’m listening to 14th Colony by Steve Berry.

V.C. Andrews’ Fallen Hearts

I watched Fallen Hearts yesterday. I taped it when it was on Lifetime. It is based on the Casteel books series by V.C. Andrews. No, I haven’t read the books. It has Annalise Basso, Jason Priestley, Kelly Rutherford, James Rittinger, Jason Cermak, Jessica Clement, Chris William Martin, and Sebastian Leroux in it.

Warning: there is a sex scene.

In this movie, Heaven gets in engaged to Logan and marries him. They decide to have the honeymoon at Tony’s manor. Tony (her biological father) tells them that he wants them to be presidents of a new toy company. They agree to doing it. Logan goes to see about the construction and Heaven stays there at the manor to be with her grandmother who is really sick. While there, Heaven finds out Troy is still alive and she sleeps with him one last time. When she goes back home, she finds out her step-sister is pregnant with her husband’s baby. Heaven is also pregnant with her uncle’s baby. Then Luke dies in car crash and Heaven ends up with custody of Luke’s son after paying her step-sister a million dollars.

I sorta liked this movie. I did read the wikipedia of the book and there were a few differences between the book and movie. Next week I’m watching Gates of Paradise.

N0S4A2 (book)

I finally finished N0S4A2 by Joe Hill yesterday. Yes, there was a show that is based on the book. It was on AMC. There were some differences between book and show.  There is supposedly a second season coming out next year.

Warning: there is some violence and some disturbing parts. Warning 2: there is a sad, but good ending.

In this book, a girl named Vic is given a bike for her birthday. She rides it fast and discovers a covered bridge appears. She crosses that bridge and ends up finding stuff that was lost. She thinks she is crazy. So she uses the bridge to find someone who can tell her what is wrong with her. She meets another girl named Maggie. Maggie tells her some people are creative and they can make thoughts into reality. Vic’s bridge is her thought made into reality. Her bike is her knife. Maggie’s knife is scrabble tiles. Maggie tells her about Charlie Manx. Charlie is a “man” who had been kidnapping kids. Charlie is actually a psychic vampire who sucks the life force (or innocence) out of the kids and makes them into vampires. He also takes them to his thought of reality he calls Christmasland. He says he takes the unhappiness away and it’s always Christmas in Christmasland.  Maggie tells Vic isn’t ready to fight Manx yet.

Later Vic decides to try to fight Manx, but sorta fails. He “dies.” But someone fixes up his car which is his knife and it brings him back to life. Vic refuses to believe he is “alive.” Her son is taken by Manx and they finally fight and she wins.

I sorta liked this book. There were some parts I didn’t like. I didn’t like how sad the ending was. Now I’m going to listen to A House Like a Lotus by Madeleine L’Engle. It is last Polly O’Keefe book.

Dark Angel

I watched V.C. Andrews’ Dark Angel yesterday. I taped it when it was on Lifetime. No, I’m not reading the books. The movie has Annalise Basso, Jason Priestley, Kelly Rutherford, Jason Cermak, James Rittinger, Jessica Clement, Matthew Nelson-Mahood, and Chris William Martin in it.

Big Warning: there are some sex scenes and a disturbing part.

In this movie, Heaven goes to live with her mother’s family, but she can’t contact her siblings while living there. She was not to go in the hedge maze which leads to a house. The house belongs to her step-grandfather’s brother. She and her step-grandfather’s brother have a steamy affair. They were to get married, but her step-grandfather drops a bombshell that he is actually her biological father so she is engaged to her uncle!! Her uncle commits suicide. Heaven graduates college and goes back home to be a teacher.

I sorta liked this movie. I did read the wikipedia of the book and there were some differences between the book and movie. Next week I’m watching Fallen Hearts.
