Cat Update

Lily did good at the new vet clinic. The new vet was very impressed that her teeth looks so clean and healthy. She gave Lily an A+. She wasn’t really shy. (It might have been the calming stuff I gave her) We did microchip her yet. It costs 45 plus 20 to register. So we may do it in a few months.

Afterwards I got the cat food I ordered. I also got a new litter mat, and litter. The litter mat is a little short, but I layered it on top of the other one and it’s fine.

Murder Most Foul

I watched Murder Most Foul yesterday. I had taped it when it was TCM. It is based on a book by Agatha Christie. I may read it sometime. It has Margaret Rutherford, Charles ‘Bud’ Tingwell, Ron Moody, Andrew Cruickshank, Stringer Davis, Alison Seebohm, Pauline Jameson, Ralph Michael, and Annette Kerr in it.

Warning: there is a little bit of violence.

In this movie, Miss Marple sits on a jury of a murder trial. A police officer caught a man with a hanging dead woman in a room. Miss Marple ends up being the hold out. Everyone says the man is guilty, but Miss Marple thinks he’s innocent. She goes on a mission to prove the man is innocent. She auction to be part of theatre group. She finds the real killer among the actors.

I loved this movie. I wish they had made more movies. Next week is the last one they made. It is Murder Ahoy.

The House with a Clock in Its Walls (movie)

I watched The House with a Clock with in Its Walls. It is loosely based on the book by John Bellairs. My mother bought me the movie because supposedly there would be references to the show Supernatural. (there were only three references that people have seen.) It has Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, Owen Vaccaro, Kyle MacLachlan, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Colleen Camp, Sunny Suljic, and Lorenza Izzo in it.

Warning: there is some scary scenes and a little bit of violence.

Quick Summary: A boy named Lewis comes to live with his uncle. His uncle lives in a magical mansion. The previous owner was a bad warlock. That bad warlock hidden a clock in the walls of the mansion. Lewis helps his uncle find the clock before the clock counts down to doomsday.

There are some differences between the book and movie:
1. Lewis isn’t skinny in the book.
2. Lewis finds the necromancy book on his own in the book.
3. Lewis copies from necromancy book. He doesn’t bring it to the cemetery.
4. Lewis and Tarby look at graves before bringing back the dead in the book.
5. Issac’s wife is the one they bring back from the dead in the book.
6. Mrs. Zimmerman fights Issac’s wife alone in the book.
7. They don’t have the key in the book.
8. Lewis was the one who finds Issac’s papers about the clock in the book.
9. Lewis doesn’t ask his uncle how to be a magician.

Even though there were many differences, I did like the movie. Jack Black was perfect for the role of Jonathan. Next Monday I’m watching Murder Most Foul.

The House with a Clock in Its Walls

I finished reading The House with a Clock in Its Walls by John Bellairs. It is the first book in a book series of 12 books. I may read all 12. There is a movie loosely based on the book.

Warning: there are some scary scenes and a little bit of violence.

In this book, a boy named Lewis goes to live with his uncle. His uncle lives in a magical mansion. Lewis is awaken by his uncle knocking on the walls. His uncle tells him that the previous owner, Issac, was a crazy and bad warlock. Issac had hidden a clock somewhere in the house and it is always ticking. (That would drive you mad.) His uncle also tells him that he himself is also a warlock. Mrs. Zimmerman is a witch who lives next door. Lewis goes to school and becomes friend with a boy named Tarby. He tries to impress Tarby by getting his uncle to do some magic tricks. But Tarby doesn’t really believe. So Lewis tries again to impress him by bring up the dead. He does and who turns out to be Issac’s wife. She moves in the house across the street. She has someone break in Jonathan’s house to get the clock key. Mrs. Zimmerman “kills” Issac’s wife again. The clock begins to chime louder. So Jonathan suggests to Lewis to do a silly magic show for the clock. They do and find out where the clock is hidden. Issac’s wife comes back, but Lewis stops her by breaking the clock.

I did like this book. Now I’m reading BirdBox by Josh Malerman. Yes I did see the movie on Netflix.

Murder at The Gallop

I watched Murder at The Gallop yesterday. It is based on a book by Agatha Christie. I just found I can get the book so I will read sometime. I taped the movie when it was on TCM. It has Margaret Rutherford, Stringer Davis, Robert Morley, Flora Robson, Charles ‘Bud’ Tingwell, Robert Urquhart, Finlay Currie, and Duncan Lamont in it.

Warning: there is a little bit of violence.

In this movie, Miss Marple goes door to door to collect money for a good cause. She arrives at a old rich man’s house. He is supposedly mean. When she goes in to see him, He is having a heart attack and falls down the stairs. She suspects murder and the he was frightened to death. The police doesn’t think so. Miss Marple goes to a riding hotel to find the killer. She thinks she found the killer, but that man gets killed himself. The real killer is a complete surprise to her and me.

I loved this movie. Wednesday I’m watching The House with a Clock in Its Walls. I’m going to be finishing reading the book that day. Next week I’m watching Murder Most Foul.

Echo Volume 4: The Last Edge of Darkness

I finished reading Echo Volume 4: The Edge of Darkness by Kent Wayne. I read the other three books in the book series.  I found out about this book series from his blog. He posts funny ads for his books and unique sayings. You can view his blog at
https://dirtyscifibuddha.com

Warning: there is some violence and mind blowing stuff.

RECOMMENDATION: Please read The Dark Tower book series by Stephen King before reading this book. Some of it will make more sense if you do.

In Echo Volume 3, Atriya gets injured by Verus and some people on the planet Echo. In Echo Volume 4, Atriya wakes up in another world he thinks. There is a sky and plants, but not really real. They are underground. He learns some magic techniques, but he gets bored with them. He wants to fight. He volunteers to join Dake’s team of fighters. Dake is very hard on him by first cutting off his hands. Don’t worry he regrows them back by getting in a magical pool. He is tortured by Dake over and over until he remembers who he was in a past life.  When he does, he sees his other lives. Dake tells Atriya about his past life. He also tells Atriya that he needs to “solve” a Buddhist riddle before he can fight the Regent. Atriya doesn’t get the riddle until the last of riddle is shown to him. He fully becomes something more to beat the Regent.

I loved this book and book series. It’s awesome. I’m a little sad that this is the last book in the book series. I’m going to miss Atriya and his adventures. Now I’m reading The House with A Clock in Its Walls by John Bellairs.

Murder, She Said

I watched Murder, She Said yesterday. It is based on an Agatha Christie book. I thought I could get the book, but I found out I can. So I will read it sometime. I taped the movie when it was on TCM. It has Margaret Rutherford, Arthur Kennedy, James Robertson Justice, Joan Hickson, Charles ‘Bud’ Tingwell, Ronnie Raymond, Stringer Davis, and Muriel Pavlow in it.

Warning: there is a little bit of violence.

In this movie, Miss Marple is on a train and sees another train passing by her window. She sees a man strangling a woman. She reports the murder to the train official, but he doesn’t believe her. He thinks she had a dream while reading a mystery book. She tries to tell a police officer when she got home, but he doesn’t believe her either. They didn’t find a body on that train, or outside the train. She goes to look for herself. She thinks the body is in mansion so she takes a maid job there. She does find the body and solves the murder.

I loved this movie. Next week I’m watching Murder at the Gallop.

Battle for Skyark

Yesterday as I was flipping channels, I decided to watch Battle for Skyark. It has Caon Mortenson, Garrett Coffey, Charlene Tung, Taylor Coliee, Luke Davis, and Chantal Thuy in it.

Warning; there is a little bit of violence.

In this movie, a boy named Rags finds out his father is a “traitor” and his father is killed. Before he is killed, he asks for Rags to be exiled to Earth. When Rags makes it to Earth, he learns he is supposedly the one to save everyone who is exiled on Earth. But he gets too scared of the “monsters.” He later gets enough courage and he learns that the “monsters” were kids sent down to Earth. They drank some blue liquid that changed them into zombie-like monsters.

I liked the movie, but there should have been a backstory to it. And it should have a sequel. Like I said Next Monday I’m watching Murder She Said.

The Legend of Tarzan

I watched The Legend of Tarzan yesterday. I taped it when Cinemax was a free preview. It has Alexander Skarsgård, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Margot Robbie, Sidney Ralitsoele, and Antony Acheampong in it.

Warning: there is some violence and one sex scene.

In this movie, Tarzan is baited into going back to the Congo. Jane was wanting to go too. So they go and find out Leon Rom has agreed to trade Tarzan for some diamonds. He is also head of a huge army that is coming to the Congo. He planned on enslaving the Congo too. Tarzan saves his wife and the people of the Congo.

I loved this awesome movie. Next week I’m starting a mystery movie marathon. So the first mystery movie is Murder She Said.

The Month of March

Happy March!!

Tomorrow I’m hoping to spend some time with my best-friend. She is bringing my birthday present (my birthday was last weekend).

My birthday (Last Sunday) was ok. I did get my haircut and dyed it again (blond). My mother did make a cake (spice cake). It’s so good.

March 9th (or 10th) we change the clocks again. March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day. Of course, I’m going to wear green. I will be giving Lily (my black cat) some treats that day to celebrate.

March 23rd Lily will be going to the vet again. I’m going to try some calming drops since my uncle’s cats are going too. I hope to get Lily microchipped.

Also this month some new shows are coming on.
