Hardcore Henry

I watched Hardcore Henry yesterday. I had taped it when Showtime was a free preview. It has Sharlto Copley, Danila Kozlovsky, Haley Bennett, and Andrei Dementiev.

Warning 1: If you are sensitive to motion, don’t watch this. (I felt a little sick after seeing the movie) Warning 2: there is alot of violence and one sex scene.

This movie is like a first-person shooter video game. You are Henry, but you don’t remember much of your past. You have little memories of when you are little, but that’s it. You are waken up by your “wife.” Then the bad guys come and kidnap your wife. The leader of the bad guys is a man named Akan who is a telekinetic which makes him hard to kill. You end up killing Akan and your “wife.”

Even though I did get a little sick watching it, I did like the movie. I had planned on watching another robot movie next week, but I have decided to watch The First Purge instead. So in two weeks I will watch Solo which is another robot movie.

Shorts (movie)

I watched Shorts yesterday. It is a kid movie made by Robert Rodriguez. I taped it when HBO was a free preview. It has Jimmy Bennett, Jake Short, Kat Dennings, Trevor Gagnon, Devon Gearhart, Jolie Vanier, Rebel Rodriguez, Leslie Mann, Jon Cryer, William H. Macy, and James Spader in it.

Warning: this movie is split into 6 parts.

In this movie, a boy named Loogie finds a rainbow looking rock. It speaks to him saying to make a wish. He does, but the wishes are really out there. He loses the rock and other people in the movie finds the rock and makes wishes. This causes some people to be power hungry and the town ends up destroying the rock.

This movie was very fitting since in the Dark Tower book series there are rainbow balls. The rainbow balls don’t grant wishes exactly, but time travel and opening to other worlds. I sorta liked this movie. Next week I’m watching Hardcore Henry. It’s a robot movie.

Dietland (tv show)

Dietland is a new tv show. It was on AMC. They had the season finale last week. It might be on Netflix in a couple of weeks. Dietland is based on a book by Sarai Walker. I haven’t read the book.

The show is about a woman nicknamed Plum. She is overweight. She has a job as being a ghostwriter for a magazine. Another aspect of the show is a group called Jennifer who terrorizes men and kills them. Plum ends up losing her job and finds out who is behind the group Jennifer.

I debated at first about taping the show, but I was intrigued with the mystery of Jennifer so I taped the show. I’m glad I did. The show does bring up alot of issues.

The Secret World of Arrietty

I watched The Secret World of Arrietty yesterday. I had taped it when Starz was a free preview. It is an animated movie. It has Bridgit Mendler, Moises Arias, David Henrie, Will Arnett, Carol Burnett, Amy Poehler, Saoirse Ronan, and Tom Holland in it.

In this movie, a boy named Shawn/Sho has to live with his aunt so he can have peace and quiet before his surgery. But he discovers a little girl in the bushes outside. Her name is Arrietty. She is a Borrower. He tries to become friends with her, but as a rule, if any of the Borrowers is discovered they have to leave.

I did like the movie. It is based on a book series that I might read someday. Next week I’m watching Shorts. It’s a movie about a rock.

Reverie (tv show)

Reverie is an awesome new tv show. It came on NBC. They had the season finale of it this Wednesday. It reminds me of another dream show that was on earlier and a Black Mirror episode. This show should be on Netflix in a couple of weeks.

Reverie is about a company who makes a computer program that allows users to dream up other worlds. But people were stuck in the program because they didn’t really want to leave to face the real world. This caused people to have really bad health problems in the real world. (by the way, the man who played President Palmer on 24 and does the Allstate ads is on this show.) A woman named Mara helps the company with pulling people out of the computer program.

The season finale left a cliffhanger ending. I don’t know if there will be another season. I hope so.

TomorrowLand

I watched TomorrowLand yesterday. Chris had bought it for me a few years ago and I hadn’t watched it until now. It has George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Hugh Laurie, Thomas Robinson, and Pierce Gagnon in it.

Warning: there is a little bit of violence.

In this movie, a boy named Frank tries to enter a jetpack in the World’s Fair. He is rejected, but a girl tells him to follow her. He goes to TomorrowLand. Many years later a teenage girl named Casey gets arrested for getting into NASA’s base. After she is released on bail, she finds a pin with her stuff that takes her to TomorrowLand. But the trip doesn’t last long. The girl who showed Frank TomorrowLand tells Casey that they need to get back to TomorrowLand with the help of Frank. They end up solving the problem that TomorrowLand has, and recruit more people.

This was an awesome movie. I loved it. Next week I’m watching The Secret World of Arriety.

The month of August

Happy August!!

Not much is happening in August for me. I hope to sometime this month be able to get some Petco gift cards from Instagc and SwagBucks.

Also I hope sometime this month to finally finish reading the last Dark Tower book. I’m reading it kinda slowly because Lily won’t let me read unless she’s asleep. And I have had some weird dreams because of the book. I’m going to be sad once I do finish it.

Some shows are coming back on. The Sinner came back on a few days ago. I hope this new season will be as good as last season.
