I finished reading Echo Volume 4: The Edge of Darkness by Kent Wayne. I read the other three books in the book series. I found out about this book series from his blog. He posts funny ads for his books and unique sayings. You can view his blog at

Warning: there is some violence and mind blowing stuff.
RECOMMENDATION: Please read The Dark Tower book series by Stephen King before reading this book. Some of it will make more sense if you do.
In Echo Volume 3, Atriya gets injured by Verus and some people on the planet Echo. In Echo Volume 4, Atriya wakes up in another world he thinks. There is a sky and plants, but not really real. They are underground. He learns some magic techniques, but he gets bored with them. He wants to fight. He volunteers to join Dake’s team of fighters. Dake is very hard on him by first cutting off his hands. Don’t worry he regrows them back by getting in a magical pool. He is tortured by Dake over and over until he remembers who he was in a past life. When he does, he sees his other lives. Dake tells Atriya about his past life. He also tells Atriya that he needs to “solve” a Buddhist riddle before he can fight the Regent. Atriya doesn’t get the riddle until the last of riddle is shown to him. He fully becomes something more to beat the Regent.
I loved this book and book series. It’s awesome. I’m a little sad that this is the last book in the book series. I’m going to miss Atriya and his adventures. Now I’m reading The House with A Clock in Its Walls by John Bellairs.
