Flowers in the Attic: The Origin: The Martyr

I watched the last part of Flowers in the Attic: The Origin: The Martyr. It is based on the book Garden of Shadows which was written by Andrew Neiderman who is the ghostwriter of V.C. Andrews. Yes, I have read that book, but it’s been awhile since I read it. It has Jemima Rooper, Max Irons, T’Shan Williams, Peter Bramhill, Alana Boden, Evelyn Miller, Buck Braithwaite, Luke Fetherston, Hannah Dodd, and Kate Mulgrew.

Big Warning: there is hints of incest and a little bit of violence.

In this “episode,” Malcolm finds out about Corrine and Christopher and goes into a rage. He tries to kill Christopher. Corrine hits Malcolm with a vase and he releases Christopher. Olivia confronts Corrine that Christopher is her half-brother. But she says they are in love anyway. Corrine and Christopher run away. Olivia is convinced that if Malcolm is no longer there then Corrine will back home. So she slits Malcolm’s picture and makes the banister loose so Malcolm will fall to his death. But he doesn’t die, but he can’t talk or walk. She becomes his nurse and invites her uncle to stay. But her uncle wants to rape her so she stabs him. Olivia takes over the house and Malcolm’s company. Corrine and Christopher have four children. Christopher gets killed in a car wreck on his birthday and Corrine ends up coming back home. Hence the start of Flowers in the Attic.

I liked this “episode.” Next week I’m watching The Forever Purge.

Flowers in the Attic: The Origin: The Murderer

I watched part 3 of Flowers in The Attic: The Origin: The Murderer. It is based on the book Garden of Shadows which was written by Andrew Neiderman who is the ghostwriter of V.C. Andrews. It has Jemima Rooper, Max Irons, T’Shan Williams, Peter Bramhill, Alana Boden, Evelyn Miller, Buck Braithwaite, Luke Fetherston, Hannah Dodd, and Kate Mulgrew.

Big Warning: there is some hints of incest.

In this “episode,” Alicia does show up at the Foxworth Hall to tell them she has cancer. She tells them that she wants them to take care of Christopher when she passes. They agree and they tell Corrine that Christopher is her uncle. But in reality, they are half brother and sister. Joel is found out by Malcolm and Malcolm sends him to a hospital to convert him to be normal in exchange that Harry be freed from jail. At the hospital, they use shock therapy. Olivia comes to her senses and rescues him. Joel gets disinherited and leaves with Harry. When Corrine and Christopher fall in love and they have sex on Malcom’s mother’s bed. Olivia sees them. Mrs. Steiner ends up working for the doctor and she finds out about Joel and Corrine’s birth records. She bribes them, but Olivia pushes her and she hit her head and dies. They bury her.

I sorta liked this “episode.” Next week I’m watching the last part: Flowers in The Attic: The Origin: The Martyr.

Flowers in the Attic: The Origin: The Mother

I watched the second part of Flowers in the Attic: The Origin: The Mother.

Big Warning: there is some hints of incest.

In this movie, Olivia does pass on that Corrine is her daughter. Alicia does leave with Christopher. When Alicia gets sixteen, Malcolm does looks at Corrine in a terrible way but doesn’t touch her thank goodness. She wants to go to a party, but Malcolm refuses and Olivia sneaks her out anyway. She gets pregnant and Olivia takes her to get an abortion. Olivia discovers that there are some poison plants in a garden near the house. She thinks about poisoning Malcolm, but doesn’t. But Corrine does try to poison him. Then on Mal’s wedding day, Malcolm kisses Mal’s bride and Mal sees it. He accidentally gets the poison thinking it’s pot and gets killed in a car wreck. Then Alicia comes back.

I sorta liked this “episode.” Next week I’m watching Flowers in the Attic: The Origin: The Murderer.

The Flowers in the Attic: The Origin: The Marriage

I watched the first “episode” of the Flowers in the Attic: The Origin: The Marriage. It is based on Garden of Shadows which was written by Andrew Neiderman who is the ghostwriter of V.C. Andrews. Yes, I have read that book, but it’s been awhile since I read it. It has Jemima Rooper, Max Irons, T’Shan Williams, Peter Bramhill, Alana Boden, Kelsey Grammer, and Kate Mulgrew.

Big Warning: there is some rape and incest in this and some violence.

In this first episode, Olivia is co-owners of a business with her father. Her father wants her to meet a man who they will have business with. His name is Malcolm Foxworth. Olivia ends up falling in love with him. Then she later ends up marrying him. Malcolm rapes her in his mother’s bed. (There is a reason for this. His mother would sexually abuse him in her bed.) She has two sons. But Malcolm wants a girl. Olivia finds out she can’t have any more kids. Then Malcolm’s father arrives with a pregnant wife. After his new stepmother has her son, Malcolm rapes her in his mother’s bed. Malcolm’s father has a heart attack. Malcolm’s stepmother is pregnant. Olivia stands up to Malcolm and tells him that she will pass off the kid as her own.

I sorta liked this episode. Next week I’m watching the next episode The Mother.

Garden of Shadows

I finished reading Garden of Shadows by V.C. Andrews. It is the fifth book of the Dollanganger book series. It is the prequel of the book series.

Warning: there are several rape scenes, two dramatic scenes and hints of incest.

In this book, we get to see why the grandmother was so mean to Corrine’s children. Olivia is her name. She’s tall and thought she would never find the perfect man. Until her father introduced her to Malcom. She thought he was perfect until they got married. She wasn’t loved by Malcom like she thought. She was raped by him twice. They had two sons who she loved dearly. Then Malcom’s father came home with a new bride. This new bride was only 19. She was also pregnant. Malcom fell in love with his father’s wife. He tried to rape her. His father caught him about to rape her, and he attacked Malcom and then had a heart attack. After his father died, Malcom did rape his father’s wife and she had a baby girl. In a deal, she allowed Olivia to take the baby girl and she left with Christopher, her son. Later on, Malcom’s father’s wife dies and Christopher comes back to stay with them. Corrine falls in love with Christopher. Not only he is her half-uncle, but also he is her half brother as well! Malcom finds out and banishes them out of the house. Then Malcom has a stroke and a heart attack. Corrine and Christopher have three children. When Christopher dies, Olivia seeks John Amos’ advice. He tells her to hide away the children from the world. That is what she does.

I did sorta like this book. Now I’m going to read The Edge of Darkness by Tim Lahaye. It is the fourth book of the Babylon Rising book series.

You can get this book at Amazon.com, Wordery.com, Kobo.com, and Downpour.com.

Seeds of Yesterday

I finished reading Seeds of Yesterday by V.C. Andrews. It is the fourth book of the Dollanganger series. I had read the first three. My hairdresser told me that I should read them all and not just the third book.  But Overdrive didn’t have the fourth book. I didn’t want to buy the book. I finally found it on Open Library and decided to borrow it from there. But I had a hard time converting it to my Kindle. Then I finally got it converted.

Warning: there are some hints of incest and one dramatic scene.

I saw the Lifetime movie that was based on this book. The only difference between the book and movie as I remember is that Jory doesn’t try to kill himself and there was no chapel.

I thought I read somewhere that the book hinted to who caused the accident that made Jory break his spine, but the book doesn’t hint to anyone. I think the movie did, I can’t remember.

In this book, Bart is turning 25, and he invites the family to the newly made Foxworth Hall with modern technology. He thinks he will be getting the rest of his money without Chris handling it. But after the grandmother’s will is re-read, he learns he will be only getting some of the money and Chris has to manage it until he turns 35. He also introduces the family to their long lost uncle Joel. Joel ends up being a bad influence to Bart. At Bart’s birthday party, Jory gets really injured. His wife has an affair with Bart while she is pregnant. She has the kids (twins) and then leaves.  Then a nurse comes and Bart falls in love with her, but the relationship doesn’t last. And she ends up marrying Jory. Chris gets in a car addict and dies. Cathy dies of a broken heart.

I sorta liked this book. It’s a sick book series. Now I’m going to read Garden of Shadows by V.C. Andrews. It is the fifth book of the Dollanganger series.

You can the book at Wordery.com, Amazon.com, Kobo.com, and Downpour.com.
