I finished reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. It is the second (first according to some people) book of the Narnia book series. There is a movie based on the book. Yes, I have seen the movie with Chris. I also re-watched the movie because I couldn’t remember some of it. I also had seen some of a BBC/PBS show many years ago of the book.
Warning: there is some violence.
In this book, Four children (Lucy, Susan, Edmund, and Peter) are sent off to a professor’s house during war time. The Professor is Digory from The Magician’s Nephew. Lucy finds a wardrobe in a room of the professor’s house while playing hide and seek. The wardrobe is made of the tree that came from Narnia. Lucy sneaks in the wardrobe and goes in Narnia. She meets a Faun who tells her about the witch and things about Narnia. To escape the witch, Lucy goes back through the wardrobe. She tells her siblings, but they don’t believe her until Edmund goes in the wardrobe with her. He is tricked by the witch. Edmund lies about Narnia, but Peter and Susan find out that Narnia is real. They meet Aslan and they have battle with the witch. The witch is killed by Aslan and the children become kings and queens of Narnia. The grow older and they find the lamp post and the way back to the wardrobe. But when they go back through the wardrobe, they are back as children and no time as passed. They learn they can’t go back to Narnia the same way they did, but they can go back to Narnia.
I loved this book. Now I’m reading The Horse and His Boy by: C.S. Lewis. It is the third (fifth according to some people) book of the Narnia book series.
