Hereditary

I watched Hereditary a few weeks ago. It has Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro, and Ann Dowd in it.

Warning: there are some disturbing scenes and a big twist at the end.

In this movie, a woman named Annie grieves after her mother dies. Her mother supposedly had mental problems. At her funeral, she says that her mother had a secret life and many people were strangers there at her funeral. Annie is a miniature designer and she is making miniatures of her life. Annie lies to her husband and goes to a grieving group. She talks about how she doesn’t want to put more stress to her family. Then she begs her son to take his younger sister to a party. He does and he gets high and he accidently kills his sister. Annie meets Joan who tells her about seances. Annie does a séance with her family which causes many strange things to happen. Then Annie discovers the truth of her mother’s secret life.

I liked this movie. Yes, there is a link to Midsommar with this movie.
