I finished reading The Arm of the Starfish by Madeleine L’Engle. It is the first book of the Polly O’Keefe book series. There are three books in the book series.
Big Warning: there is some violence.
In this book, a boy named Adam is given an opportunity to work for Dr. O’Keefe (Cavin who married Meg) at his lab in Portugal. While traveling there, he meets a girl named Kali. She tells Adam that Dr. O’Keefe is no good. This makes him very confused about who is telling the truth. He later is put in charge of Poly O’Keefe who is 12 years old. But he loses her and she is kidnapped by Kali’s father who wants O’Keefe’s work and sell it to China. Adam does find Poly again. Everything ends up being clear when he does work for Dr. O’Keefe.
I did like this book. I just got the second book in the O’Keefe book series, but I have to read a book I had recommended to Overdrive first since it became available first. It is Moon of Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice.
