Snowpiecer

I watched Snowpiercer yesterday. I taped it when it was on SYFY. It has Chris Evans, Kang-ho Song, Ed Harris, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Ko Asung, and Octavia Spencer in it.

Big Warning: there is a lot of violence.

Side Note: I did a survey about tv shows a few months ago and it had a video of Snowpiecer. Or I thought it was. The video was nothing like the movie. Apparently there is a show of the movie coming out next year. I do have to warn that it has some parts of the movie like the uprising (that doesn’t really happen) and the reason they are on the train. But there is a detective onboard and there is a murder of a first classer and he has to solve it. I won’t be seeing the show.

This movie was based on a graphic novel called Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette. There was a English version done by Titan Comics. I might buy it on Black Friday (Nov. 29th).

In this movie, Global warming becomes a real problem and they find a solution which is to cover the earth with a chemical that makes everything into winter wonderland. Some people live because of a unique train that circles the earth. Those people are divided on the train. The poor people live on the tail of the train and the upper class live the front. Wilford is the maker of the train and he lives in the engine area. An uprising happens brought by a man named Curtis. Later Curtis tells about the living conditions on the tail end of the train and that’s why he has caused the uprising. But Curtis learns that the uprising wasn’t really his idea, it was Wilford and Gilliam’s idea.

I don’t like the end, but I did love the movie. I would love to read the graphic novel. Next week I’m watching Firewall.
