I watched Red Sparrow yesterday. I taped it when it was on Cinemax.I didn’t know this until later that it is based on a book by Jason Matthews. I want to read the book series. It has Jennifer Lawrence (she’s so pretty), Joel Edgerton, Charlotte Rampling, Joely Richardson, Mary-Louise Parker, Jeremy Irons, and Sergei Polunin in it.
Warning: there are some rape scenes.
In this movie, Dominika is a Russian ballerina. She get injured badly in a performance. Her uncle tells her that now that she quit being a ballerina, she won’t be able to live in the apartment and take care of her sick mother. He suggest to do a spy job, but turns badly. The man rapes her and her uncle’s men kill the man. To hold that against her, her uncle puts her in a “spy” school. She gets raped again. She leaves the school. She later is put on job involving a CIA agent. The CIA turn her and she sets up her uncle.
I liked this movie. Next week I’m watching Fifty Shades Freed.
