The Silver Linings Playbook (movie)

I did watch The Silver Linings Playbook. I ordered it from Overdrive. They do have movies too. The movie is based on the book by Matthew Quick (which I listened to last week). The movie has Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Chris Tucker, Anupam Kher, John Ortiz, Julia Stiles, and Brea Bee.

Warning: there is some violence.

There are lots of differences between the book and movie. Two main differences are four years passed when he got out the institution, not six months and he doesn’t remember what happened to him until he watches the wedding video in the book.

Some other differences:

1. the dance competition wasn’t a competition in the book.

2. the song they danced to was different in the book.

3. they danced better in the book.

4. it tells in the movie he is bipolar. In the book, it doesn’t say what he has. (I think it is more than bipolar.)

5. Pat doesn’t know Danny is out until he is attacked in the book.

6. Pat doesn’t tell Tiffany he loves her in the book. She tells him I need you at the end of the book which is her saying she loves him.

7. there was no betting in the book.

I liked the book better. Next week I’m watching Odd Thomas.

If you want to see it, you can get it at Amazon.com.

Maximum Ride: School’s out-Forever

I finished listening to School’s Out-Forever by James Patterson. It is the second book of the Maximum Ride book series. The audiobook was another abridged version so I decided to read the ebook to get the missing chapters. I’m actually glad I did because it had some interesting images at the end of the book.

Warning: there is lots of violence.

In this book, Max does take the others to Washington D.C. But things do go badly though. Fang gets badly hurt. A man calls 911 and they all go to the hospital. Fang does live, but they have to deal with the FBI (supposedly). They later go to a real school. But the school isn’t a typical school. (read the book to know what I mean.) Max finds out the scientists have made another her. They do find out about a company who supposedly plays a role in Max saving the world. They also find out more info about themselves at that company.

I did like the book. I have the third book on hold. Monday I’m going to listen to Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz.

You can get this book at Amazon.com, Wordery.com, and Kobo.com.

The Silver Linings Playbook

I finished listening to The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick. I heard about this book through my book blogs that I follow. I knew this book was a mental health book from reading the blogs. At first, I didn’t want to read this book. But since I am doing a book to movie marathon right now, I decided to read it. I’m watching the movie on Monday.

Warning: some cussing.

The Silver Linings Playbook is about a man named Pat. He was in a mental institution. He thought that has been a few months. But it has been 4 years. His mother finally got him out of the mental institution. (His rambles remind me of Chris, my fiancĂ©.) He really wants to get back with his wife. His mother tries to protect him from what had happened. (I thought the crime he committed was hurting a kid. But I was wrong, it was pretty bad though.) I should also say I don’t like American football. And this book talks a lot about the American football team The Eagles.

I sorta like this book. I’m going to listen to/read Maximum Ride: School’s Out by James Patterson. It is the second book of the Maximum Ride book series. The audiobook is abridged so I will be also reading the ebook. On Monday I’m going to listen to Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. I will be watching the movie next Monday.

You can get this book at Amazon.com, Wordery.com, Kobo.com, and Downpour.com.

The month of October

Happy October!!

Today I am supposed to get the shoes I ordered.

I’m glad for the new and old shows coming tv. But right now there are too many shows to watch. Mr. Robot is coming back on!! Yay!! It was too crazy last season.

I’m not glad though that I have a doctor’s appointment later this month. I hate going to the doctor. It is just an annual check-up.

Also, I hope Chris comes down this month.

The Book Thief (movie)

I did watch The Book Thief yesterday. It is based on the book by Markus Zusak. I read it last week. I loved the book. The movie has Roger Allam, Sophie Nélisse, Heike Makatsch, Julian Lehmann, Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson, and Nico Liersch.

Warning: one very sad part, and some violence.

There were some differences between the book and the movie. Liesel’s receives two books from Max in the book. The first one wasn’t a journal. The story of her life was called The Book Thief in the book. Death finds it and gives it back to her at the end. And there were some other small differences.

Even though there were differences, it was a great movie just like the book. Next week I’m watching The Silver Linings Playbook. I will finish listening to the book today.
